Jungsanri Campsite: A Small Yet Majestic Retreat in the Heart of Nature

Jungsan-ri Campsite

Jungsan-ri Campsite

The Jungsan-ri Campsite, small and compact, yet located amidst the grandeur of nature, offers a unique camping experience.

Introduction

The campsite is located in the Jirisan National Park, about 600 meters above sea level, on the way to the market or Cheonwangbong from Jungsan-ri. True to its name, the campsite does not have electricity and vehicles cannot be brought up. Parking is available at the Jungsan-ri parking lot, and visitors need to carry their luggage on a cart for about 500 meters.

The campsite is tiered into three levels and has a total of 50 sites. Basic camping facilities such as a shower and toilet are available. Each site also features wooden chairs and tables, providing a comfortable dining experience. However, there are no additional conveniences like electricity.

A new Greenpoint system has been introduced within the national park. Points are awarded for collecting and taking away litter left on the premises. These points can be redeemed at park facilities or exchanged for goods. The weight of the litter to be taken away is measured at the accumulation point. Points and coupons can be issued from the Greenpoint website and used at shelters, campsites, and other park facilities.
