Chungju Firefly Auto Campground
The Chungju Firefly Auto Campground, known in Korean as 충주반딧불 오토캠핑장, is a hidden gem nestled in the Eumjeong Neighborhood of Chungju City, in North Chungcheong Province. The campground, characterized by its beautiful Elm trees, is housed on a remodeled old school ground and offers an idyllic getaway for nature lovers and Korean culture enthusiasts.
Getting There
Located about 18km from Chungju City Hall, reaching the campground is as easy as a 30-minute drive via Chungwon Road and Naechang Road. What was once a playground for children has now been transformed into a picturesque campsite, boasting two impressive Elm trees that add a unique charm to the place.
Facilities
The campground features 60 auto camping sites and three caravans. The ground floor of the auto camping sites is made up of 34 crushed stone sites and 26 deck sites, with entry allowed for personal trailers and caravans. Aside from sleeping bags, the management office provides almost all camping equipment for rent, including tents, extension cords, fire pits, heating appliances, and tableware. The campground operates all year round, with online real-time reservations available.
