Lotus Pond Campsite: A Pristine Camping Spot Nestled in Samgye-ri Valley
Lotus Pond Campsite, or 연지곤지 캠핑장 in Korean, is a serene retreat tucked away in the Samgye-ri Valley of Cheongdo County, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Located approximately 41 km from Cheongdo County Office, the journey to this hidden gem is just under an hour by car, making it an easy getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
One of the major attractions of this campsite is its proximity to the renowned tourist spot, Samgye-ri Valley. During the hot summers, the valley becomes a popular destination for campers looking to combine the joys of camping with the refreshing coolness of water play.
The campsite itself provides twelve general camping sites, each measuring 7m x 8m and floored with crushed stones. Not only is it open to individual trailers, but caravans are also welcome. The management office offers rental services for camping equipment such as tents, reel lines, and grill stands.
Despite being small in size, the campsite is impeccably maintained by a dedicated caretaker who ensures that all facilities are kept clean and tidy at all times. The campsite is open year-round, except for a brief closure from December to March.
