Camping Under the Pines: Gunwi Solbat Camping Site by the Playful Stream

Gunwi Pine Forest Campground

Situated next to a refreshing stream, perfect for water play, is the Gunwi Pine Forest Campground. Named after the district it’s located in, the campground is a tranquil retreat surrounded by nature’s beauty.

Gunwi Pine Forest Campground

The campground is about 30km from the Gunwi district office, a convenient 30-minute drive via the Chisan Hyoryeongro and Palgongsan Tunnel roads. The location by the stream makes it an ideal spot for summer water play and camping. The campground features 20 auto camping sites, each measuring 5m by 10m, and constructed with crushed stone. Both caravans and trailers are welcome, with no additional charges. Pets, both large and small dogs, are allowed, given they are leashed and owners carry waste bags. Each year, from July to August, the campground operates a platform where visitors can enjoy water play along with delicious dishes such as chicken soup, duck bulgogi, and pork belly. The nearby Palgongsan Provincial Park makes for an excellent side trip.
